Rh- Incompatibility (Fact sheet #6)

Image
People with different blood types have proteins specific to that blood type on the surfaces of their red blood cells (RBCs). There are four blood types — A, B, AB, and O. Each of the four blood types is further classified based on the presence of another protein on the surface of RBCs that indicates the Rh factor. If you carry this protein, you are Rh positive. If you don't carry the protein, you are Rh negative. Most people — about 85% — are Rh positive. But if a woman who is Rh negative and a man who is Rh positive conceive a baby, there is the potential for a baby to have a health problem. The baby growing inside the Rh-negative mother may have Rh-positive blood, inherited from the father. Approximately half of the children born to an Rh-negative mother and Rh-positive father will be Rh positive. During delivery, the mother's and baby's blood can intermingle. If this happens, the mother's body recognizes the Rh protein as a foreign substance and might begin maki...

I can't stress enough on the taboo people have on women masturbating. I'd say even women taboo themselves doing that. We don't really talk about it. For me masturbation is a private thing, I wouldn't let any of my lovers see me do that either, but enough about me. I've been going around asking people about what they think about masturbating, most common response I've gotten - "I don't do it!" ,"Ewwww" and something along similar lines. So here are a few health benefits of masturbation for you to go through. Say bye bye to STI's and STD's, - Masturbation has the least risk of transmitting STI's, unless you decide to use a foreign object (wash and clean and use a condom). It makes you super duper happy - It's a basic hormonal reaction to an orgasm, and who doesn't like feeling happy? You know yourself better - Your sex life can have a drastic improvement if you know what you like. Who else can explore you ...

Dental Dams! Damn!

Image
Oral sex. Ah. As much as people taboo it, I'm sure we all enjoy it when someone goes down between our legs. Oral sex is also one of the most common mode for transferring STI's and STD's. So what can we do about this?  So here comes the solution . Dental dams.  Dental dams are basically a thin sheet which can be used between the mouth and the vagina/anus.  Initially it was used as a barrier between the teeth during a dental procedure. Now it's been remodeled for safer oral sex  It protects both parties from contracting any infection as oral infections can also be transferred to genitals and vice versa. And I know I know it's not easy to get the required materials from chemists, so what we can do here is that, we can find alternates which can serve as immediate good barriers.  However if you do go to a chemist, look up for latex dental dam, or any other material if you are allergic . Incase of emergencies (though I don't know if yo...
